6 Tips for Wearing Sequins

1. Keep it to One Piece

When you start adding more sparkle to the outfit, the pieces will fight against each other. Let that one piece be your statement!

2. Keep it Minimal

You can also keep your sequins the statement piece by keeping the rest of your outfit minimal. Do this by pairing your sequins with solid, neutral colors.

3. Choose the Right Color

There are so many options when it comes to sequin pieces, but you have to remember to choose the color that works best for your skin tone! Choose a silver-toned sequin piece if cooler tones look best on you OR choose a warmer toned sequin piece, like gold, if warmer tones look best on you.

4. Keep it Casual

When wearing sequins during the day, keep it casual. This could look like a sequin camisole, jacket, and low booties or sneakers.

5. Keep it Dressy

When wearing sequins for an event, keep it dressy. This could look like a sequin dress, or a jumpsuit with a sequin jacket, and a pair of heels. Remember to stay light on jewelry— the sequins are the accessory!

6. When NOT to Wear

There are places where sequins should not be worn. The top places to avoid wearing them are:

Weddings

Funerals

Job Interviews

Hospitals

Court (unless you’re Ruth Bader Ginsburg, of course!)

Bonus Tip
If you are a lover of sequin dresses and single, we recommend you apply to the place where sequins are more prevalent than anywhere else… The Bachelor or Bachelorette! Love and sparkles for everyone.
